Energy Australia will run helicopter patrols in the Upper Hunter over coming weeks in preperation for the approaching bushfire and storm season.
The annual aerial inspections of the Upper Hunter electricity network enable line crews to identify potential faults or areas for maintenance.
EnergyAustralia general manager John Eisenhuth said land owners should move their livestock away from powerlines.
The patrols began on Tuesday and will be in the air in the next three weeks.
